Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), on Tuesday, slammed the state administration for not allowing Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to participate in the funeral of his uncle Tariq Ahmad Buchh. They termed it as extremely shameful and heartless.

On the directions of DFP chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah, a party delegation led by secretary general, Moulana Abdullah Tari, visited the residence of the bereaved family and expressed condolence and solidarity with them.

Tari addressed the condolence gathering and shed light on the philosophy of life and death. Lashing out at the authorities for disallowing Mirwaiz from participating in his uncle’s funeral, Tari said, “This act symbolises slavery.”

Extending condolence on behalf of Shabir Ahmad Shah, Moulana Tari said he (Shah) also has been under continuous house detention since last four years and during this period many of his close relatives, including uncles and aunts, have passed away but the authorities didn’t allow him to participate in anyone’s last rites.

Meanwhile, the delegation also visited the residence of Sajad Ahmad Gilkar at Nowhatta, Srinagar and extended Shabir Ahmad Shah’s condolence to the bereaved family. On the occasion, Tari told the family that they are committed and will take forward the mission.
