Kashmir Transporters Welfare Association (KTWA) Wednesday decided to suspend the transport services against the government’s imminent move of shifting the Batamaloo General Bus Stand (GBS) to Parimpora.

The association here held a meeting and discussed the future strategy to resist the government’s imminent decision.

The transporters called for a ‘Chakka Jam’ on tomorrow (Thursday).

KTWA members said that a meeting of representatives of auto rickshaws, mini-buses and other passenger vehicles was held on Wednesday.

“Bus owners have decided to leave buses of Western Bus Service at the Batamaloo GBS as a mark of protest. The bus stand at Parimpora is not worth a bus stand but we have been told to shift soon, which is quite an illogical move. All transport will remain off the roads on Thursday,” members said.
