Elderly man injured in army firing in Bijbehara succumbs

An elderly man who was injured in army firing yesterday in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district has succumbed at SKIMS Soura, official said.

Mohammad Abdullah Ganaie, 60, a resident of Hussanpora village was injured after army opened fire on protesters following an argument in Goriwan area yesterday.

Ganaie was shifted to Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla where from he was referred to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment.

“He breathed his last around 5pm at SKIMS Soura,” sources said.
