Ummat-e-Islami demands release of Qazi Yasir

Members of Ummat e Islami Sunday met at the party headquarters to condemn the desecration of Jamia Masjid Islamabad (Anantnag) and the constant harassment of youth at the hands of the local Police. The members in large numbers to demanded an immediate release of the arrested youth along with Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir.

“The continuous arrest of Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir is a testimony to the fact that the state is fearful of Mirwaiz Yasir, but they cannot stop the party as the party has spread its roots to nooks and corners of Southern Kashmir. The people associated to Mirwaiz Yasir religiously are also not spared. Feroz Ahmed Haji who runs a charitable trust owned by Mirwaiz Yasir was also not spared, he was arrested yesterday. Gulzar Madni who has a religious affiliation to Mirwaiz Yasir was also imprisoned for many days which is a sheer frustration,” Moulana Nisar Ahmed Nayeemi according to the statement said.

Riyaz Ahmed, District President of Ummat e Islami for District Islamabad demanded the early release of Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir, Feroz Haji and all the youth who have been picked up in the town. He said the state Government should also intervene in the matter of desecration of Jamia Masjid.

Pertinently Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir had been arrested on 8 July on the way to Tral in Southern Kashmir.
