Amarnath Yatra attack: Woman pilgrim succumbs to injuries, death toll rises to 8

 A woman devotee injured in the deadly militant attack on Amarnath pilgrims, has succumbed to her injuries at SKIMS Hospital Srinagar, taking the death toll to eight.

The slain has been identified as Lalitaben wife of Bengoben and is resident of Gujrat.

Pertinently, unidentified militants had carried out an attack on a bus carrying pilgrims on July 10 in Anantnag. Seven pilgrims had died in the attack while 19 others were injured.

Police believes that the attack was carried out by Laskar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant outfit. However LeT has denied its role in the attack.

Consequently, a SIT has been formed by JK Police to probe the attack.
