Two killed in mishaps, four sustain injuries

Two persons died while four others were injured in separate road accidents in the Valley, a police spokesman said.

He said that in Awantipora, an accident took place between a Maruti car driven by Mohammad Amin Bhat son of Abdul Salam resident of Manzgam, Kulgam bearing registration number JK01P-2040 and a Tempo bearing registration number MH-15PB-6597 driven by Aejaz Ahmad resident of Nasik Maharashtra at National Highway near Mantaqi Petrol Pump Jawbarara, resulting in on spot death of Maruti driver and injuries to two persons identified as Zakira Jan daughter of Dawood Ahmad and Masrat @Meema wife of Dawood Ahmad residents of Manzgam.

Both the injured were shifted to sub District Hospital Pampore for treatment where Zakira Jan succumbed to her injuries while Masrat @Meema was shifted to SMHS Srinagar Hospital for further treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.

In Kupwara, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK01L-8124 met with an accident near Hatmullah, resulting in injuries to a pedestrian identified as Abdul Majeed Malik resident of Hatmullah. The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital Kupwara for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.

In Baramulla, a Zylo car bearing registration number Jk01R-0614 driven by Ghulam Mustafa resident of Boniyar fell into a deep gorge  at Bandaya, resulting in injuries to the driver and a passenger namely Rashid Ahanger resident of Nowshear. Both the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard, the spokesman added.
