Anantnag Shuts against desecration of Jamia Masjid, arrest of local youth
A complete shutdown is being observed in the Anantnag town to protest the desecration of Jamia Masjid, Islamabad (Anantnag) and the arrest of local youth in the area.
Shops, Business establishments remained shut while traffic movement on the roads was very thin.
Trade Association, Jamiat Ahli Hadees, Local Clerics, Bar Association, Civil society condemned the desecration of the Masjid and attended the condemnation meeting held at Jamia Masjid.
Paramilitary troopers had also been deployed in large numbers throughout the town. The Shutdown call had been given by Jamia Masjid committee headed by Mirwaiz Qazi Ahmed Yasir.
Pertinently no Prayers were offered in the Mosque following the incident in which troopers had damaged the property of the mosque and arrested at least 20 boys including Juveniles.
