Clashes erupt in south Kashmir’s Anantnag

Clashes between government forces and protesters erupted in Anantnag town of south Kashmir after Friday prayers.

The clashes started soon after protesters raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans tried to march towards Lal Chowk however they were intercepted.

Clashes disrupted the normal life in Jamia Masjid area of old town Anantnag as protesters resorted to stone pelting and forces to tear smoke shelling, local sources said.
