Youth hit by bullet during clashes in Pulwama

A youth was injured after forces opened fire on protesters in Pulwama town of south Kashmir on Thursday.

Reports said that youth took to streets and staged pro-freedom protests amid a complete shutdown in the town.

Police and paramilitary forces resorted to teargas shelling to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes. As the protesters refused to budge, paramilitary troopers opened fire, they said.

A youth, identified as Obaid Ahmad of Chatpora area, was hit by a bullet in his left leg.

He was rushed to District Hospital Pulwama for treatment where his condition is stated to be stable.
