Reiterating his demand for a credible probe into the attack on Amarnath Yatris, AIP supremo and MLA Langate, Er Rashid, expressed apprehensions that security agencies in the coming days can make anyone a scapegoat on the pretext of eliminating the attackers.

He said that Kashmiris should not be apologetic as they are neither involved in the incident nor can they stop such brutal tragedies.

Taking a dig at Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s statement, that the head of every Kashmiri hangs in shame over the Amarnath attack, Rashid said, “What is the fault of Kashmiris in regards to this attack. Such apologetic and appeasing statements give an impression as if every Kashmiris is holding a gun and has no business but to kill Yatris. Everyone should understand that it is not only the seven yatris, who have lost their lives in Kashmir, but more than one lakh Kashmiris have been buried in graveyards and nobody cares for them.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the killings of Yatris through tweet but why didn’t he speak a single world when Kashmiris were being killed on daily basis. Mehbooba Mufti did a good thing by spending the whole night with the injured Yatris.”

He said that Kashmiris are not adverse in giving ex-gratia to the kin of Amarnath attack victims, but why not a penny was given to hundreds of people killed during last one year in Kashmir.

Er Rashid also added that the government must come clean on what was the reason behind Yatris being forced to hoist tricolour at Phalgham.
