The medical and paramedical employees of primary health center (PHC) Frisal, on Tuesday, alleged that security forces, belonging to Rashtriya Rifles, thrashed them black and blue on their ignorance regarding two local youths, who were given first aid in the hospital.

Security forces arrived at the hospital at around 9.30 pm, on Monday, and questioned the employees regarding two local youths, who had met with an accident and were provided first aid. When the hospital staff expressed inability to answer the facts, they were beaten up, the staff members alleged.

Demanding justice and protesting the high-handedness of the jawans, the employees of PHC shut the hospital. They have requested the seniors and the civil administration of Kulgam district to intervene in the matter.

An employee of the primary health center said that if such incidents will not be stopped, health and patient care will suffer in the state and the government would be responsible for the sad state of affairs.

The block medical officer, Dr. Feroz Ahmad and community hospital officer, Dr, Mohammad Yousuf, said they both visited the spot and contacted SHO Frisal.  He then called on Major of Rashtriya Rifles camp, allegedly involved in the incident.

The Major apologised and  assured that such type of incidents will not happen in future, the officials claimed.
