CUK V-C inaugurates capacity dev prog for outsource employees

Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir today inaugurated a capacity development programme organised by the varsity in collaboration with Sahayata Security Services for the outsource employees.

Dean School of Education, Prof. N A Nadeem, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Finance Officer, Bashir Ahmad Haji, Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Fayaz A Nikka, Managing Director, Sahayata Security Services, Ganshyam Sharma Pandit, senior functionaries of the varsity and outsource employees were present on the occasion.

Addressing the participants, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir asked the outsource staff to work with utmost dedication, commitment and ensure punctuality. “These attributes should become hallmark of your work in the university,” Prof. Mehraj ud Din said. He told the employees that they have to work in tandem with the faculty and other administrative staff of the varsity and have to be student friendly. CUK VC said the varsity has taken slew of measures to further improve the working of the outsource employees and many other measures were in the offing.

Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar while speaking on the occasion asked the outsource employees to contribute significantly for the overall growth and development of the varsity. He asked the employees to work with zeal and zest in association with other staff members of the university in order to achieve the required objectives and goals set by the university.

Prof. Zargar asked the employees to be student and teacher friendly. He said the university would make every effort to redress the genuine grievances of the employees. 

Finance Officer, Bashir Ahmad Haji, while addressing the gathering said the main aim of organizing the capacity development programme was to sensitize the staff about the official noting, financial codes and procedures, fixed asset management, purchase procedures and other official day-to-day matters and issues confronted by the outsource employees while dealing with the students and other institutions.

Dean School of Education, Prof. N A Nadeem and Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Fayaz A Nikka also shared their thoughts about the capacity building programmes and urged the participants to learn and understand the issues pertaining to the overall functioning of the varsity. They emphasized the need to conduct more programmes of such nature. 

Director, Sahayata Security Services, Ganshyam Sharma Pandit, hailed the university for conducting the programme and asked the employees to take gain as much knowledge as possible during the 15 days event.

Deputy Registrar, Administration, Dr. Javed Wani conducted the programme proceedings while as Public Relations Officer, Arshad Me’raj proposed the vote of thanks.

Later, former Registrar and now Dean Academics, University of Kashmir, Prof. Musadiq Sahaf made a presentation on “Managing Institutions of Higher Learning in Changing Educational Scenario,” an operational employees perspective.
