Independent MLA from Langate, Er Rasheed,  Wednesday  asked the lawmakers to clear their position if they consider popular militant commander Burhan Wani as a “terrorist” or not.

Rasheed was speaking on the floor of state legislative assembly whose special session was called to discuss the extension of GST in the state.

Engineer asked the lawmakers to raise their hands if they believe Burhan Wani was a terrorist. That left the MLAs from BJP enraged who retorted back stating that “ who was Rasheed to say this.’’

Rashid, went ahead with his remarks about Burhan and narrated how he was a “beloved of  Kashmiris.”

Rasheed later in a statement said, while pointing towards Mehbooba Mufti, “the only word you spoke during the three day discussion on GST was offering apology to Davinder Rana.’’

“Similarly Omar Abdullah turned at the house just for a day but didn’t speak even a word as if he was a statue and preferred to shoot a tweet from some unknown destination to oppose GST.”

Rasheed said that a person “whose funeral is attended by over five lakh  people is undoubtedly the leader of Kashmir.’’   On GST bill, Rasheed lashed out at National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party for their role in dragging Kashmir “into the situation that Kashmir is in.’’

He said that leader of the opposition Omar Abdullah criticised GST bill only on twitter.  While addressing Omar Abdullah, he said that “He (Omar) needs to learn if New Delhi doesn’t listen to UN resolutions and the huge sacrifices of Kashmiris, why anybody should give a damn to Omer Abdullah’s tweets.”

“It seems the National Conference was never interested in the issue and instead showed complacency and paved way for PDP-BJP government to enforce GST on people of Kashmir.”

Er. Rasheed while turning towards BJP MLA’s asked them “where is your self-respect and patriotism, as China has cornered India in north east and why don’t you dare to fire even a single bullet from this side.”

Later, Er. Rasheed as a mark of protest walked out of the house, pointing towards Mehbooba Mufti saying that she was fulfilling the “unfinished agenda of Sheikh dynasty with main objective to bury the sentiments, sacrifices, rights and aspirations of people of J&K.”
