Economic prosperity linked to better road connectivity: Minister

Minister for Horticulture, Syed Basharat Bukhari laying stress on need for ensuring proper road connectivity, said that good roads help improve economy by enhancing employment generation opportunities.

The Minister said this during his visit to Sangrama constituency wherein he reviewed the progress on various development works encompassing tourism, PHE, R&B departments, Irrigation & Flood Control, being undertaken in the constituency in the current financial year.

Illuminating the significance and advantages of Sranze Waterfall to the local community, the Minster directed the concerned to come up with a survey report to restore the waterfall to its pristine glory and undertake beautification efforts to develop the waterfall as a tourist attraction.

Seeking details regarding various ongoing macadamization projects, the Minister was informed that the work is being executed at a fast pace and steady progress is being made to complete the works at the earliest. The Minister asking the concerned to adhere to deadlines, directed for expanding the road networks further-in to ensure no area remains unconnected.

The Minister also visited Nagbal-Darhajin Bridge and directed for speeding up the pace of work to connected people of the area with adjoining areas.

While visiting the Nilsar landslide affected road, the Minister directed the concerned to undertake extensive survey and find out scientific solutions to make the said patch of road safe for travelers.

The Minister also gave various on-spot directions to officers aimed at improve service delivery to the people besides. He directed for ensuring effective planning and execution of works for result oriented development and stressed upon officers to properly plan the works and execute them in time bound manner.

He said that concerted efforts should be made to achieve tangible results on ground so that better amenities and services are provided to the people.

As part of this extensive constituency visit, the Minster interacted with various delegations at Sranze waterfall, Nagbal, Dhoodbugh, Nilsar, Kolina, Sultanpora, Vigla, Vizer, Wagoora, kalantra and various other places. The Minister gave patient hearing to these delegations and assured them of early redressal of their genuine demands.

Among others ADC Baramulla Mohammad Munawar, Tehsildars, Executive Engineers, BDO and other officers from various departments accompanied the Minister.
