DIC organizes debate on “Relevance of Social Media in our Society”
To create awareness among the people especially students regarding the importance and role of social media, District Information Centre Reasi organised a Debate Competition on the topic “Relevance of Social Media in our Society” at Government Higher Secondary School Dharmari here today.
The principal of the school Ashok Raina was chief guest whereas lecturers Nazakat Ali and Puran Chand and Master Balwant Singh acted as judges in the competition. The vote of thanks was given by lecturer Riaz Ahmed.
Shubam Thakur was adjudged got the first prize while Mohd Mustafeez and Sabina Khalid secured 2nd and 3rd position in the debate competition. As many as, 10 students participated in the Debate competition and expressed their ideas and views on the topic.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest threw light on the topic and stressed on creating awareness among the people about the positive and negative factors of social media which impact and develop their personality.
Later, a colourful cultural programme was also presented by local artists and students which mesmerised the audience on the occasion.
Finally, commendation certificates and trophies were distributed among the participants.
