Budha Amarnath Yatra arrangements finalized

To finalize the arrangements for the smooth conduct of Shri Budha Amarnath Ji annual Yatra   Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tariq Ahamad Zargar today convened a meeting with the concerned district officers, trustees of Shri Budha Amarnath Ji shrine and prominent citizens, here today.

The Deputy Commissioner  took a  detailed  review of  security arrangements besides issues pertaining to availability of essentials services  like uninterrupted  power supply , drinking water facilities, availability of LPG cylinders , medicare facilities, sanitation and accommodation were discussed in  the meeting.

 The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to make elaborate arrangements for reception of the pilgrims. He asked SSP Poonch to make liaison with other security agencies and hold separate meeting with them if necessary for elaborate security arrangements on the route from Bimer Gali (BG) to BudhaAmarnath  Mandi. The concerned officers were directed to redress  others issues like accommodation and traffic regulation for smooth movement of the yatris.

Tariq Zargar also instructed EO, Municipal Council to maintain cleanliness and illumination  facilities at Langer sites and around the places where yatris will stay so that they do not face any inconvenience. The Fire and Emergency Department was also directed to set up fire tenders at all the halting stations enroute the Holy shrine. Health authorities were asked to establish medical camps near shrine and also keep standby ambulances at strategic locations. Instructions were passed to the BRO authorities to expedite the resurfacing and for maintenance of damaged road stretches.

It was decided in the meeting that a yatra officer would be nominated who shall coordinate with other concerned agencies and departments and supervise necessary arrangements at Holy Shrine Budha Amarnath. It was also decided a committee of officers and prominent citizens will be constituted to coordinate and facilitate smooth conduct of yatra.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajiv Panday, Additional Deputy Commissioner Gurvinderjeet Singh,  ASP M.A.Mir, SDMs Surnkote & Mandhar, ACD Poonch, principals of concerned educational institutions, defence officers ,district health officer, ARTO, besides Executive Engineers of PWD, PDD,  BRO, BSF and several district officers attended the meeting.
