Day 2: ‘Rise-in Kashmir- 2017’ attracts huge crowd at SKICC
A huge rush of people including more than a thousand students from different schools and colleges throng to the exhibition at SKICC- located at scenic Dal Lake on second day to gain the knowledge, experience by visiting the stalls.
‘Rise-in Kashmir 2017’ a four- day exhibition started on Monday inaugurated by Union Minister and Farmer Welfare Radha Mohan Singh received a huge applause.
R.V.S.Kushwaha, General Manager , Power Grid Corporation of India limited and S.M.Kandewal , Additional General Manager, Power Grid Corporation of India limited alongwith other officials of the corporation were seen interacting with the visitors, explaining to them about the contribution of POWERGRID in nation building and sensitizing them about the need of energy conservation. Various facets of the Corporation were displayed through exhibits which helped the visitors to appreciate the working of Power grid.
Deviprasad Karnik, Director Publications and Public Relations, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) directly interacted with the students and shared the latest achievements of India in the area of space science and technology.
The ISRO stall has the large models of GSLV Rocket, which carried 3136 kg GSAT- 19 Communication Satellite successful into orbit last month as well as India’s workhorse launch vehicle PSLV. Also models of Mars Orbitar Mission (MOM- Mangalyaan) and India’s navigation satellite – IRNSS were showcased. The posters displayed carried the information about India’s launch vehicles and satellites serving the country.
During the day, a hurried quiz competition in which dozens of students were awarded with gifts for replying correct answers.
The visiting students from different schools relished the refreshment- including fruits, juice and snacks. “It was a great opportunity for Students and exhibitors to interact face to face,” said Anand Pal, President Sansa Foundation, adding, it made the youth aware of the researches and experiments in various fields.
The exhibition also provided information about developmental activities in the core sector of infrastructure, technology, agriculture, Women and children Welfare, Industries, health & Family Welfare, Indian System of Medicines, education, Research and Development, Science and Technology, Power and energy, Agriculture, Horticulture, Rural technologies and empowerment. It highlights Government Policies and Programmes for the masses to grasp Knowledge for their social and economical growth.
