DHSK introduces Stamped Prescription Writing

Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK) today launched stamped prescription writing in its department from District Hospital Pulwama. This initiative will go a long way towards greater transparency and accountability, a statement issued here said.

“It will simultaneously help to promote ethical practice to an enormous extent and will thus discourage malpractice. Moreover, it will increase dispensing of hospital medicine,” the statement added.

“As the patient has every right to know the prescribing doctor, he shall be having the information about the same always wherein every prescription written in the hospital will have a marked official stamp, indicating the name and designation of the prescribing doctor,” the statement added.

Pertinently, District Hospital Pulwama became the first hospital in the state to implement the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir’s order no: 1414-1514 dated: 27-05-2017 wherein it was impressed upon all the hospital administrators to start the practice of stamped prescription writing.

Director Health Services, Kashmir Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman said that stamped prescription writing will be of utmost significance in providing quality health care and deliver better transparency in the system.
