DDC tours Kalaroos block, inspects dev works

The District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, today conducted an extensive tour of different areas of Kalaroos block in the district to take stock of various ongoing developmental works and to check attendance of officials at various Government Departments there.

During the inspection of various works, he directed the concerned agencies to speed up execution of work so that people of the area are benefited. He also inspected PHC Kalaroose and took stock of health facilities available there. The BMO and health officials apprised the DDC about the centre’s functioning; besides they also projected demands to better cater to the increasing rush of patients.

During the tour, the DDC visiting various farmlands and interacted with the growers. He directed the I&FC authorities to fulfill the needs and demands of the farming community.

He also inspected Trout Fish Rearing Unit, Agriculture Extension office, FCS&CA office at Thayanand and checked the attendance of the officials.

The DDC also took stock of functioning of the Higher Secondary School Kalaroos and went around the different classes and blocks and took stock of the facilities available for the students in respect of drinking water, sanitation measures.

While taking inspection of 1.5 km of road length at Lastiyaal in Kalaroose block being constructed under PMGSY and under Construction bridge under CRF on Kalaroose nalah, he directed concerned agencies to speed up the work on the road for providing better connectivity to the areas of the block. He directed the Revenue, Irrigation and other concerned Departments for demarcation of the state land on the banks of nalah under the illegal occupation to be utilized for allocation of different departments for construction purposes.

Several public deputations also met the DDC during the tour and projected their issues, demands, and problems before him. The DDC passed directions on the spot to resolve the public interest issues on priority.
