Strongly denouncing electronic media for its biased reporting, negative campaign and carrying malicious and misleading propaganda against Kashmiris, Syed Ali Geelani, said these sleuths with stale ideology are representing fanatical forces, thus creating a state of intolerance.

On Friday, Geelani referred media channels “Republic TV”, “Times Now”, “Aaj Tak”, “India Today” and “India TV” as fish markets.

He said, “Polite and sensible people consider their telecast and lineups as agonizing and annoying and never like to watch these channels for their insane reporting.”

Geelani said, “We don’t have any hostility with people of other states. We too expect, on humanitarian grounds, support for our cause and right to self-determination.

“These channels are not following any ethics and have crossed all limits.”

Referring to false propaganda televised on these channels, Geelani said they are trying to defame and disgrace our movement. They telecast concocted and fake stories. They have evolved a euphoria of intolerance. Instead of providing any space for polite discussions, they are choking and strangulating the genuine voices.

Appealing to peace loving people and rational societies, Geelani said that instead of relying on these channels and their venomous propaganda, they should try to understand the Kashmir issue in its right context and help resolve this issue.

Geelanis said, “People in Jammu and Kashmir are true to their commitment and it is not a crime to pursue right to self-determination.”
