Anantnag Encounter: Two militants killed in Dialgam

Two militants Bashir Lashkari alias Abu Ukasha and Azad Malik were believed to be killed after government forces razed the residential house they were trapped in to the ground. The militants were holed up in south Kashmir’s Dialgam area in Anantnag district on Saturday.

According to the police sources, Bashir Lashkari was a militant commander believed to have masterminded an ambush in Achabal area where six policemen including a Station House Officer (SHO) was killed last month.

Local sources said that forces blasted the house and razed it to ground which was followed by complete silence.

The holed up militants are believed to be dead however the bodies were yet to be recovered, they said.

Bashir Ah Wani also was known as Bashir Lashkeri was a resident of Sopshali, Kokernag and was considered as A militant by the forces. While as Azad Ah Malik alias Dada was a resident of Arwani, Bijbehara and was a category B militant.

Police sources said that operation to retrieve the bodies was underway.

Pertinently, two civilians including a woman were also killed after hit with bullets near the encounter site.
