Clashes erupted in Sopore after Friday prayer
While following Joint Resistance leaderships protest call against US state department for declaring Hizb chief “a global terrorist” scores of youth protested in Sopore town after Friday prayers.
According to the witness, forces use a number of tear smoke shells towards the protesting youth when after Friday prayer they assembled at Jamia Masjid area of town. The protesters were raising anti-government and pro -freedom slogans against the government forces.
Witness said that the protesters tried to march towards main chowk area and hurled stones on forces that were already deployed in strength at main bazaar area of town.
Protests were going on when this report was filed.
