Three militants escaped the cordon following protests by locals in Soaf village of Kokernag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.

According to the reports, government forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the native village of Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Bashir Lashkari following inputs about the presence of at least three militants.

However, people took to streets and staged massive protests. The militants took the advantage of the protests and are believed to have escaped the cordon.
