Modi, CM, Dy CM, Abdullaha’s greet people on Eid
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday greeted the nation on the occasion of Ramadhan and Jagannath Yatra, saying that diversity is the country’s uniqueness and its strength. In the 33rd edition of his monthly radio broadcast programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Modi said that Jagannath is lord of the poor.
“Lord Jagannath is the lord of poor and I am happy that it is being celebrated with such happiness. Today in may parts of the world the festival is being celebrated in some way or the other. I wish my greetings to the people of the country on the occasion,” said Modi. Modi also said that the word Juggernaut in English is derived from Jagannath.
Congratulating the people on the occasion of Ramadhan, Modi said that Eid-ul-Fitr is the festival of happiness and more we share happiness on this occasion, the more it increases. “Ramadhan is a very auspicious occasion. The more we share happiness on this occasion the more it increases. My best wishes to the people on the occassion,” he added.
Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti felicitated people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Eid ul Fitr. In her felicitation message, Chief Minister hoped this Eid will bring along everlasting peace, happiness and prosperity to the people of the state.
Mehbooba Mufti prayed that the month long fastings and the night long supplications of the faithful are accepted and rewarded by the Almighty. She hoped the spirit of generosity, discipline and piety generated through the Holy month is carried hereafter by people in day to day life as well.
Chief Minister appealed people not to forget the orphans, widows, destitute and all those who suffered during the almost 30 year long turmoil in the State during the festivities of Eid and play their positive role in bringing them back to the mainstream of society by generously donating for their welfare and cause.
On the occasion, Mehbooba Mufti also prayed for communal harmony, brotherhood and upholding human values in the State.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh also conveyed greetings to the people of State on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
In his felicitation message, Dr Singh hoped that the Eid ul Fitr would be the harbingers of peace, progress and prosperity for the State and its people.
Dr Singh said that the Jammu and Kashmir is an abode of peace and tranquility where the people of different faiths live together since centuries in harmony and mutual brotherhood and such holy occasions further strengthen the bonds of love and amity among different communities.
Former Chief Minister and National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Working President, Omar Abdullah, have greeted the people of the state and the Muslim Ummah in general on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Praying for peace and prosperity in the state, Dr Farooq Abdullah in his message said, “The spirit behind the observance of Eid-ul-Fitr is to express our thanks to Almighty Allah for giving us the courage to observe fasting in the month of Ramzan and rededicate ourselves to the path of truthfulness, sincerity, self-control, patience and human dignity”.
In his message on Eid-ul-Fitr, NC Working President Mr. Omar Abdullah has extended his warmest greetings to the people of the State and prayed this auspicious occasion becomes a new harbinger for peace and amity in the State. He also hoped that this auspicious occasion would strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and brotherhood
