Pakistani troops resorted to shelling in Uri: Army

Pakistan today violated ceasefire twice in Kamalkote sector of Uri in Baramulla district of North Kashmir and resorted to firing on Indian army, officials said.

An official said the Pakistan troopers targeted soldiers of 20 Sikh regiment of Army at Lower Gund in Kamalkote sector along Line of Control.

“The Pakistan army started firing at 11:55 am and continued till 12:20 pm. The Indian army returned the fire. Later again, the Pakistan army resorted to firing from 01:20 pm until 2:20 pm,” he said.

The official said that there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the firing. “The situation right now is normal,” he added.
