On Eid, look after needy in your area, says Shabir Shah

Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabir Ahmad Shah, on Friday, appealed to the Muslims to not forget the poor, needy, destitute and the families of those incarcerated, in the celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Shah, who is under house arrest, appealed to Muslims to celebrate Eid with simplicity and austerity. He said “Lakhs of people have been killed, thousands have gone missing, hundreds of our women raped, thousands of our children have been blinded by lethal weapons.”

He said, “On the happy occasion of Eid, how can we forget the widows and orphans and the elderly whose sons have gone missing. There are thousands of tragedies that still haunt us.”

Shah appealed to the affluent families to fulfill their social, moral and religious responsibility by taking care of the needy in their respective areas. “This way we will earn the blessings of Allah,” he said.

The DFP chairman assured the kin of dead that the nation was with them. Shah appealed to the people to visit the families of the incarcerated people and look after them.

Meanwhile, on Shah’s directions, a party delegation comprising district president Pulwama, Mohammad Amin and Farooq Ahmad visited the families of the killed and expressed condolence and solidarity with them.

Shah spoke over the phone with the families of Kakapora encounter and expressed condolence.
