Clashes erupted in Sopore after Friday prayer
Clashes erupted between youth and security forces in north Kashmir’s Sopore town after Friday prayers, sources said.
According to the sources, scores of youth assembled at Jamia Masjid area of the town and raised anti-government and pro -freedom slogans against the killing of a civilian during the clashes in Kakpora, Pulwama encounter on Thursday.
Wintess said that the protesters tried to march towards main chowk area of the town and tried to pelt stones on the forces already deployed in the area. The forces retaliated by using heavy tear smoke shelling to disperse them which trigger clashes.
