Cloud burst damages 13 water supply schemes in south Kashmir

Cloud bursts and heavy rains have damaged almost the entire waters supply in south Kashmir. The calamity have taken a toll on the 13 Public Health Engineering Department (PHE) schemes in and around Nallaha Doodhganga, Halsidar, Hakran and Sandran at Dooru Kapran area of south Kashmir.

“The entire water supply system got damaged due to cloud burst in the area,” said Firdous Ahamd, a PHE official.

He said that a team of top PHE officials along with PHE Minister Farooq Andrabi are visiting to the area to assess the damage.
Meanwhile, assistant executive engineer PHE Dooru has directed all the concerned officials and subordinates to assess the damage.

“All employees are on the spot and are realigning the pipes. The public need not be panic, we will access the damage and through alternate sources water will be provided to them,” he added.
