A high alert was Sunday sounded in Srinagar after inputs of suspicious movement of militants in the city areas, sources said.

“The state police was put on high alert in Srinagar for the next 48 hours over a possible militant attack,” sources said.

They informed that the security forces are on strict vigil as reports suggest that militants might strike a security establishment.

Sources informed that the movement of militants was also reported in the City areas in past days.

Pertinently, the militants in Kashmir carried out scores of attacks of the security forces.

The attacks also resulted in the killing of scores of policemen including an SHO and in the injuries to cops and the CRPF troopers.

However, the Director General of Police (DGP), Shesh Paul Vaid, while speaking over the incidents has said that that the “perpetrators would be brought to book and they will face the law.’’
