Restrictions in Srinagar parts, Pampore today

As the situation turned volatile on Friday, authorities here have decided to impose restrictions in Srinagar parts and Pampore in Pulwama district as precautionary measures on Saturday.

The district administration Srinagar has decided to impose restrictions in jurisdictions of five police stations on Saturday (June 17).

Deputy Magistrate Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Lone said that the restrictions under section 144 will be imposed in the areas falling under the jurisdiction of five police stations including Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, Safakadal and MR Gunj.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, G M Dar said that the restriction under section 144 will be imposed on Saturday in Pampore Tehsil in Pulwama district.

Furthermore, the district administration Anantnag here has decided to suspend the teaching activity in all the schools and colleges in the district.

However, the resistance camp has also called for a shutdown against the civilian killings in Rangreth in Budgam and in Arwani area of Anantnag district.

Two militants and three civilians were Friday killed in an encounter and clashes at different places while six policemen including a senior cop were also killed in a militant attack in Achabal area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
