Many candidates are distressed as Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board’s (JKKVIB) has failed to conduct examination for various posts that was advertised last year.

The aspirants said that JKKVIB had advertised for various Graduate and Post Graduate level posts last year in October, but till date no examination has been conducted by the department.

A job aspirant said, “It is very unfortunate that the authorities are delaying the examinations. The law and order situation in the state is often bad. Hence, most should be made of the peaceful situation to conduct the examination. It has become a trend in the state that examinations are often delayed. This results in the overall delay in the selection process.”

The notification issued by the JKKVIB department on March 16 this year had scheduled the examinations for various posts on April 13, 15 and 16. However, the examinations were postponed without the candidates being given any reason, leaving them high and dry.

Danish Ahmad, a candidate working in a private company in Delhi said that he was surprised on finding out that JKKVIB examinations had been postponed. He said, “It causes a lot of inconvenience to the aspirants, especially those who have to travel from outside the Valley just to appear in the examination.”

Vice Chairman, Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), Mansoor Hussain Sohrawardhy, said that the examination would be conducted soon. He said, “We will issue a notification within a week on which dates the examination would be scheduled for. We had to postpone the exams earlier due to bypolls in April.”
