Strongly criticizing National Investigation Agency (NIA) for summoning Altaf Ahmad Shah (secretary public relation) to Delhi for interrogation, Syed Ali Geelani, on Sunday, said that the call is sheer vengeance.

Geelani said, “Altaf Ahmad and other party activists are unnecessarily being harassed by NIA sleuths. NIA is being used as a tool to dent the leadership so that they surrender and stop voicing the sentiments. Altaf Shah, is active in politics since the last 35 years and his all activities are transparent. However, the authorities in Delhi are intimidating political workers on one pretext or the other.”

He said that since 2002, fabricated cases are being filed against me, my colleagues and my close relatives. “All these senseless efforts that have proved useless and futile. All these state sponsored tactics won’t deter us from pursuing our mission.”

Geelani asked the authorities to adopt a realistic approach and accept hard realities about the Kashmir issue.
