Govt committed to JK’s equitable development: Mir Zahoor

Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative and Fisheries, Mir Zahoor Ahmad today said that the Government has undertaken a holistic programme for ensuring equitable development of all the regions in the State and in this regard all ongoing developmental projects are being completed within the stipulated time frame.

The Minister was addressing a gathering during a tour to Pampore Constituency. He also kick started macdamization work of 3.5 kms road from Sathpukroo to Ismail Colony here today.

The Minister said that an amount of Rs 2.10 crore will be spent on the Sathpukroo road for macdamaization. He said that Government is committed to provide better road connectivity in the State. He said that directions have already been given to the concerned agencies to identify the habitations bereft of road connectivity in Pampore constituency and prepare their Detailed Project Reports for necessary approval.

During his tour, the Minister asked the concerned officers to implement all the flagship programmes of the Roads and Buildings, Rural Development, Health, Education and Power Development Departments in letter and spirit. 

Enroute, several deputations met the Minister and apprised him about their individual and collective problems. These included issuance of timber on concessional rates, construction of lanes and drains, replacement of damaged poles and up gradation of some educational institutions from middle to high and high to higher secondary standard. The Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured that their genuine demands would be looked into. In some cases, however, Mir Zahoor directed on the spot instructions to the concerned for immediate redressal.

A team of Senior Officers of various departments including R & B accompanied the Minister during his tour.
