Two Punjab residents held with poppy straw in Kulgam
Two people were arrested with poppy straw in Qazigund area of Kulgam district, police said in a statement.
According to a statement, a police party of police post Jawahar Tunnel, Qazigund during Naka checking intercepted a Tavera vehicle bearing registered number JK03A-4159 at Command Post North Portal.
“During checking police recovered 20 Kilograms of Poppy straw from the possession of two people boarding the vehicle,” said the statement.
The accused were identified as Kaisar Singh son of Kashmir Singh resident of Kulgrah, Shaheed Bagaht Singh Nagar Punjab and Jangar Singh son of Payra Singh resident of Kundanpora Balachour, Punjab.
The police said that both the accused have been taken into custody and further investigation has been taken up.
