MLA Chenani inaugurates Sudh Mahadev Mela

MLA Chenani, Dina Nath Bhagat Thursday inaugurated the 3 day Sudh Mahadev Mela here at the historic Shiv Temple shrine.

A large number of devotees from within and outside the district thronged the mela and paid obeisance to Lord Shiva.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhagat said that such occasions reflect diverse Dogra culture and act as a source to recreate religious and cultural ambience.

Later, the MLA also inspected various departmental stalls put up by different government departments to disseminate information about the schemes being offered by them.

The District administration, Udhampur has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the mela.

The stalls of various departments like Agriculture, Horticulture, Health, Animal Husbandry, Apiculture, Handloom, Handicraft etc attracted the visitors in large numbers who were provided information about the welfare, self-employment schemes. The farmers and rural folk were intimated about modern techniques of cultivation and crop patterns for better returns.

The 3 day long mela would also witness cultural programmes, sports activities and other colourful activities.

Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM), Chenani, Davinder Kumar Sharma, Tehsildar, Pardeep Singh, BMO and district heads of various departments were present on the occasion.
