6 militants killed as Army foils infiltration bid

Six militants were killed after Army foiled an infiltration bid at Uri as they were trying to sneak into this side. The Army has stepped up the vigil and the combing operation was launched in the surrounding to search for any more militants who have managed to cross over to this side.

Defence Spokesman, Col Rajesh Kalia, said that six militants were killed as the Army foiled an infiltration bid from across the border in Uri sector.

He said that the operation was going on till the reports last came in. 

As soon as the armed force personnel witnessed some suspicious movement along the LoC they opened fire and in the ongoing gunfight five militants were killed. There was no collateral damage being suffered by the Army in the gun battle with the militants.

The incidents of infiltration from across the border have stepped up as the snow has started to melt on the mountain passes that connect two parts of Kashmir.
