Windstorm leaves two persons injured

Two people including a girl were injured due to heavy windstorm in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district Tuesday morning.

Police sources said that a man identified as Feroz Ahmed Hajam S/O Ghulam Rasool Hajam, a tailor by profession, of Larnoo Kokernag fell from two-storey house in Achabal Adda Anantnag.

As per eyewitness he was adjusting a tarpaulin sheet as rain water was seeping through the ceiling of his shop. He was standing on a ladder when the strong winds dislocated the ladder.

“Feroz was rushed to district hospital Anantnag where from he has been referred to Srinagar in a critical condition,” sources added.

 

In another incident a 18 year old girl identified as Ashiya resident of Mohra,  Reasi got injured after a poplar tree fell on a tent erected temporarily by her family near Kir Kadal  in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district today morning.

The other family members escaped unhurt. The injured  girl has been shifted to Bijbehara hospital for treatment.
