Trader’s Federation Pampore  has called for a shutdown in the town on Thursday against the forces’ action,  who allegedly ransacked the public property, sources said.

”The forces damaged public property at Namblabal Pampore and roughed up many people”, President of the Pampore Traders Federation said.

He further alleged that forces barged into residential houses and beat inmates.

Earlier, the students of Government Boys Higher Secondary School Pampore and Government Girls Higher Secondary School Pampore staged a protest on Srinagar-Jammu highway at Namlabal Pampore against the killing of a youth in Shopian last evening.

Consequently, forces resorted to tear smoke shelling and pellet firing to disperse the protesters, triggering massive clashes.

In the clashes, more than a dozen students were injured.
