Militant killed in Machil sector
An unidentified militant has been killed in an on-going operation at Machil sector along line of control in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday.
“Army’s 56 RR launched a cordon and search operation at Sardari Nad forest area. As such the search party intensified the combing operation, the militants hiding in the area opened fire triggering off a gun fight,” a police official was quoted by a local news gathering agency.
In the intial exchange of gun fire, an unknown militant has been killed, the officer said.
When reports last came in the operation was going on in the area.
