Ganga reviews preparedness for Baba Chamliyal Mela

Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga chaired a meeting to review the preparedness for annual Baba Chamliyal Mela.

Vice-Chairman, State Advisory Board for Welfare and Development of Other Backward Classes Rashpaul Verma, Deputy Commissioner,  Sheetal Nanda, ADDC  Vivek Sharma, ADC  Tilak Raj Sharma, SSP Samba Anil Magotra and senior officers of BSF, Police, Tourism, PHE, R&B and PDD were present in the meeting.

 The Minister directed the R&B officers to complete the blacktopping works of link road to Baba Chamliyal well before the Mela so that the people don’t face any inconvenience in reaching the holy shrine.

He also directed the security agencies for making fool proof arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Mela.

 PHE Department was asked to ensure uninterrupted water supply, besides stationing water tankers at vital locations.

 The Minister directed the officers of PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply at the shrine and keep a 100 KV transformer on standby for dealing with any emergency besides taking up repair of poles and electric cables well in time.

The Municipal authorities were asked to install adequate number of dustbins and temporary toilets at the site for the convenience of devotees.

 The CMO was directed to station two ambulances at the venue with sufficient staff and medicines.

The blacktopping work of link road from village Abtal to shrine of Baba Chamliyal will be completed at a cost of Rs. 2.85 crore.
