Four militants killed as they try to attack Bandipora CRPF camp

Four militants were killed today by government forces as they attempted to attack a CRPF camp at Sumbal in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir, reports said.

The heavily armed militants tried to enter the camp of 45th battalion of CRPF around 4.30 am and opened fire at the sentry post, a police official said.

”Following the attack, army, CRPF and police retaliated, triggering a brief gunfight,” he said. “Four foreign militants were killed in the shootout.”

Meanwhile, DGP SP Vaid tweeted a picture of the four AK-47 rifles and other ammunition, he said were recovered from the slain militants.

The identity of the slain militants was yet to be ascertained.
