The teaching work in colleges and Higher Secondary Schools (HSS) across Kashmir Valley resumed today after remaining suspended for over a week’s time.

However the class work at SP HSS and  MP HSS continued to remain suspended on Monday.

The JK government earlier ordered for suspension of class work in all Colleges and HSS post killing of Hizbul Mujahidin Commander Sabzar Ahmad Bhat who was killed in an encounter with government forces at Tral area of south Kashmir on May 27.

The class work in educational institutions have been badly affected due to the frequent orders issued by the government for prolonged closure of schools and suspension of the class work in the institutions.

The class work in the schools and colleges was suspended as a “precautionary measure” to avoid student protest.

Earlier, campuses erupted against thrashing of students by government forces in Pulwama Degree College, leaving over 50 students injured.

Since then the educational institutions have remained closed for 19 days out of total 36 working days in Kashmir.
