Alleged suicide: Mudasir’s family protest against ‘police inaction’

The family and the relatives of Mudasir Javed who allegedly committed suicide last month, Monday protested at Srinagar’s Press Enclave against what they termed as “gentle behaviour of police with the culprits”.

The family and the relatives chanted slogans like ‘we want justice’ and were holding banners and placards.

They were demanding action against her in-laws and her husband.

“The in-laws of our beloved one must answer that what prompted her to commit suicide and how they came to know that she has jumped into the river from Zaina Kadal Bridge”, Irfan Aziz, brother of Mudasir said.

Mudasir Javed, wife of Javed Ahmad Bungee was a Junior Engineer (JE) in Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Department, Ganderbal.

She allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the River Jehlum near Old Zaina Kadal Bridge on May 05, this year.
