Chief Secretary stresses prompt redressal of public grievances

To ensure speedy redressal of public grievances relating to cleanliness, drinking water, electricity, ration and other basic services, during the holy month of Ramadhan, Chief Secretary, Mr B B Vyas Friday chaired a meeting in Civil Secretariat Srinagar, of the concerned HoDs of the various essential services departments.

Chief Engineer (M&RE) Wing Kashmir, Chief Engineer, PHE, Kashmir, Chief Engineer, PW(R&B), Kashmir, Director, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Kashmir, Commissioner SMC and other officers were present.

Chief Secretary urged the HoDs to give top priority and focused attention for addressing the public grievances received in their offices in regard to damaged transformers, street lighting, water supply, ration, drainage, roads and garbage disposal so  that people are not put to any inconvenience during this month.

Chief Secretary received a brief about the disposal of the grievances/complaints, which had been received during the period from 28 May, 2017 to June 2 2017.

While interacting with the HoDs, Chief Secretary observed that this meeting was convened to address the complaints/ public grievances received by his office pertaining to various basic services particularly non availability of drinking water in certain areas of Srinagar City and adjoining areas.
