Dealers warned of stern action

A team of Enforcement Officers from Directorate of Agriculture Kashmir under Deputy Director Law enforcement and Assistant Director Law Enforcement of Kashmir Division had a surprise Market checking on Wednesday in District Srinagar and Ganderbal, a statement issued here said.

Through checking viz-a-viz compliance to insecticides Act, 1968, Seed act, 1966 and FCO 1985 was observed at various trading units, dealers shops of Insecticides/ Fungicides/ Pesticides/ Fertilizers and Seeds.

The fertilizer dealer were directed to keep the rate list of fertilizers displayed at prominent places along with licence in their premises and shops and also to maintain proper record and issue cash memo to the farmers against each purchase made, the statement added.

Some dealers were found misusing their fertilizer licence and accordingly on spot direction were passed for suspension of their licenses and were warned of stringent action in case of any violation/ deviation to Insecticide Act, 1968, Seed Act, 1966 and FCO 1985. Meanwhile the farming community/ orchardists are advised to purchase the Insecticides/ Seeds/ Fertilizers against the proper cash memo/ receipt from the registered dealers.
