LeT module busted in Bandipora. Five operatives arrested: Police

Police today claimed to have busted an LeT module in North kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Accoring to the police statement, an input was received that one Wagon-R vehicle is roaming in between Chandergeer, Hajin, Shahgund and Gundjahangeer areas, carrying Militants or OGWs with their illegal arms and  ammunition.

The police said that they were planning to carryout terrorist activities.

“Acting upon this input, today on 1st June 2017 in dawn the operation was planned, Police party from Hajin Police Station and 13-RR laid a special Naka at Khusarpora Hajin axis, leading to recovery of huge cache of arms and  ammunition, which was meant to be supplied to Lashkar-e-Toiba militant group operating in the Shahgund and Gund-Jahangeer areas,” said police statement.

“During Naka checking one white Color Wagon-R vehicle bearing registration No. JK15-6569 was intercepted and 05 boarding persons including driver were questioned,” the statement added.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Bashir Ahmad Mir son of Ab. Ahad Mir of Paribal Hajin and Mohd Younis Bhat son of Sonaullah Bhat of Chandergeer, Shabir Ahmad Dar son of Ab. Majeed Dar of Chandergeer, Hilal Ahmad Parray son of Gh. Ahmad Parray of Kochak-Mohalla Hajin and Sonaullah Dar son of Gh. Ahmad of Gundjahangeer Hajin.

The police said that upon search operation of the vehicle 10 grenades besides 02 AK-47 Magazines and 27 rounds of AK rifle were recovered from the vehicle.

All the accused persons were taken in custody and vehicle was seized and case FIR No. 34/2017 has been registered in P/S Hajin.

During preliminary investigation, accused persons revealed that they along with Inayat Ahmad Parray son of Mohd Akbar Parray of Hajin were working for militant group of LeT as OGWs. The consignment was handed to them by Inayat for further distribution.
