The dead body of a 17-year-old boy, Faiz Ahmad Shiekh who drowned in the Ningli stream in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district in last week was fished out on Wednesday.

The 17-year old boy was drowned into the stream on last Friday.

The body of Sheikh, son of Javaid Ahmad, resident of Tarzoo in Sopore was fished out in this afternoon, police said.

The officials said that the rescue operation was ongoing since last Friday. “A joint team of State Disaster Response Force and army was on job and today managed to retrieve the body of Sheik after five days,” the officials said.

Faiz as per the reports was bathing in the stream when he slipped in the middle of it and disappeared. He was a class 11th student.

Meanwhile, amid tear, sobs, hundreds of people participated in the funeral process of Sheikh.
