Asking New Delhi to explain if Jammu and Kashmir is India’s integral part, why has the state its own flag and constitution, AIP supremo and MLA Langate Er Rasheed said Wednesday while reiterating his stand that there is no substitute for right to self-determination.

Addressing party core group meeting Er. Rasheed said that Centre has tried to dilute the autonomy and special status of the state from time to time.

“The BJP’s dreams of Uniform Civil Code, ek vidhan, ek pradhan and ek nishan can never ever be implemented in the state,” he said.

“Kashmiris should not allow Centre to snatch their special status.” Er. Rasheed said that party has been celebrating the state flag day every year just to remind New Delhi that Jammu and Kashmir is a separate identity and has its own flag which by no means is less significant than the tri-colour for Kashmiris.

He added that party will celebrate the state flag day in Srinagar on June 7 and appealed people from all walks of life to join the function.
