Clashes erupt in Trehgam

Clashes have erupted between youth and government forces in Trehgam area of Kupwara district of Kashmir on Sunday in the aftermath of killing of Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Sabzar Ahmad Bhat and his colleague Faizan Muzzafar Bhat in Tral area of Pulwama district on Saturday, sources said.

According to the sources, the youth were protesting in main market when police party arrived and tried to disperse the protesters by lobbing tear gas shells, triggering clashes.

During the clashes a youth was hit by pellets in the face injuring him seriously. The injured boy was immediately rushed to the  local health facility.

Pertinently, all major towns across Kashmir are observing shutdown on the call given by joint separatist leadership to mourn the killings.
