JRL protests commendation to army major
The joint resistance leaders on Friday staged protest against the commendation to an Army major who tied a youth to a jeep as human shield.
According to the statement issued here, the leaders termed the award to officer as ‘sheer violation of human rights’.
While condemning the commendation to Army major, the activists and people appealed international organization for human rights to take cognizance and impress authorities for their immediate release.
The statement said that the protests were organized at different places after Friday prayers today.
Pertinently, resistance leadership including Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik had called for protests after Friday prayers against awarding a medal to erring officer.
